Akashi Japanese Restaurant opened in 1993, founded by Larry Chi and his wife, Barbara. At the time, they were the youngest sushi team in town--an average chef age of just 21. "Akashi" means bright stone--a reflection of this ground-breaking restaurant as a true gem in the South Florida sushi community. It's also the name of a Japanese city known for its seafood, especially snapper. This restaurant has official government inspection reports available online.
